This is a very different and special base. 50% wool and 50% alpaca this yarn was hand-spun by women in Peru and I decided to purchase some of it as a way to support their work.
This is a lovely, rugged and hardy yarn. For those who like to work with from-the-source untreated fibre, you will love this! 💚💙I have found tiny bits of veg material in it as I work with it and I would say it would make some awesome hats or mittens, not necessarily for round the neck, next to sensitive skin type garments.
Note if you typically work with merino/cashmere/pure alpaca/etc:
Although the alpaca helps to soften this fibre, please note that you will find this yarn very different with a heavier texture and coarser feel.

NOTES RE HAND-DYED YARNS:
Be aware that colors may appear differently on different computer monitors, but every effort has been made to portray them as accurately as possible.
All of my yarns are hand dyed and, as much as I attempt to match, every batch is one-of-a-kind. Be sure to order what you need as matching future batches are not guaranteed.
When using hand-dyed yarns in a project that requires more than one skein, it is strongly recommended to alternate skeins every other row of knitting to even out any differences.
Lastly, as with any hand dyed yarn, please expect minor imperfections and some variation from skein to skein (even within the same batch), as each skein is individually hand painted.
