80% superwash merino 20% nylon
115g/420 yards per skein
I dyed these skeins on the first day of summer and the actual dyeing took place through the moment of summer solstice arriving: June 20, 2021 11:31pm EST.
Each turning of the wheel and changing of the seasons, I spent the day, or at least a part of it, keeping myself open to inspiration. I watch for colourways to appear in the world around me as I do about my day. Usually, some friends and I spend the morning watching the sunrise on the beach but this year, I spent the Solstice with a couple of my closest friends on their property out in the country. The photos I took of the day are listed here….they were my inspiration when I got home later that evening and headed straight to the dye pans.
I try not to pre-plan what I’m going to create for these seasonal yarns. The resulting skeins were dyed with five different techniques that came to me throughout the process and they turned out so amazing!
Limited for now but with possible recreation in future!
NOTES RE HAND-DYED YARNS:
Be aware that colors may appear differently on different computer monitors, but every effort has been made to portray them as accurately as possible.
All of my yarns are hand dyed and, as much as I attempt to match, every batch is one-of-a-kind. Be sure to order what you need as matching future batches are not guaranteed.
When using hand-dyed yarns in a project that requires more than one skein, it is strongly recommended to alternate skeins every other row of knitting to even out any differences.
Lastly, as with any hand dyed yarn, please expect minor imperfections and some variation from skein to skein (even within the same batch), as each skein is individually hand painted.
